YOGA NINJA - yoga for 3 to 12 year olds
It is many years since we started teaching yoga to children. I sort of taught my own - I say "sort of" because i don't think you can force anyone to do anything. It may look like you are winning - but you never are. Anyway, enough philosophy.
My idea with YOGA NINJA, is to teach children yoga in such a way that they are happy and exhausted at the end of class, and along the way they have learned heaps of other things that they didn't realise they were learning.
Such as co-operation, co-ordination, balance, attention to detail, respect. (I could go on).. as well as the easy things such as counting, spelling and a smattering of anatomy. Certainly self-esteem. It is amazing what we can chieve in three quarters of any hour with a little love and appreciation of our small charges.
How do we teach it to teachers? Good question. First you have to love children and be excited by the prospect of teaching the little ones. IS THIS YOU?
DISTANCE ED: Investment $659. The course comprises monthly modules which include anatomy and physiology, philosophy, and practical things such a poetry and such, a practical yoga asana requirement, First Aid to level 1, Police check, Community Aid , and an exam.
CERTIFICATE COURSE TRAINING $659.00. Whether you organise on-site or distance ed. there is still a written component to be done at your convenience to bring it in to line with the Distance Ed. course, and of course an exam which also can be done at home. PROFESSIONAL YOGA TEACHER TRAINING COURSE: $1,585 Distance ed. or $2,020 studio based. This course will set you up to teach childrens yoga anywhere whether or not you have a yoga background - maybe you are doing a "sea-change".
